Snacks - As we begin this school year in our beautiful new building, we want to ensure it stays clean and well cared for. For this reason, snacks are not permitted in classrooms, hallways, or breakout spaces. Eating is limited to designated areas: the learning steps near the gym for breakfast, the D Building for breakfast and lunch, and the clinic, where the nurse keeps additional food available for students who need it.
To help students stay focused and energized, we encourage them to eat a full breakfast in the morning and a filling lunch during the school day. These routines, along with our designated eating spaces, will help us keep our new school clean and welcoming for everyone.
Athletics this week:
VHSL Physicals
For any team tryouts, your student must have a VHSL physical on file. If your student comes to a tryout and does not have a VHSL form, they will be unable to participate in tryouts that day. If you need one printed out, please email (walters1@charlottesvilleschools.org) or have your student see Mr. Walters and he can give one to your student at school.
First game of the season
Football and Cheer will be playing/performing at the CHS football stadium on Saturday, August 23rd at 4:00pm. Come out and support our players!
Cheer
If your student is still interested in signing up for cheer, please reach out to head coach Ms. Lomax (lomaxa1@charlottesvilleschools.org) for more information. The last day to sign up for the team is Friday, August 22nd.
Girls Volleyball:
Tryouts will be this week on Monday and Tuesday (Aug 18th and 19th) from 3:30-5:30 pm on both days. Each day will cover different volleyball skills and techniques. It is recommended that anyone trying out comes out for both days. There will be a callback tryout for Wednesday (Aug 20th). If you have any questions feel free to reach out to Mr. Walters.
