Young Knight athletics include football, volleyball, cheer, basketball, swimming, track, softball & baseball. Eighth graders can also try out for CHS JV teams. Major emphasis is devoted to sportsmanship, healthy competition, and becoming a positive team player.

What's New With CMS Sports

Spring Sports Tryout Dates!

Spring Tryouts: Due to the fields conditions and the weather baseball and softball tryouts will now be on Thursday and Monday. We apologize for all the cancelations. Our coaches have been geared up and ready to start and are eager meet your athletes. 

  • Baseball (grades 6th-8th) at Lane Field 
    • March 5th, Thursday 4:00-6:15 pm
    • March 9th, Monday 4:00-5:00 pm
  • Softball (grades 6th-8th) 
    • Thursday March 5th and Monday, March 9th from 4:00-5:30 pm at McIntire Park (Across from the YMCA)
  • Track (grades 7th and 8th)
    • Starts Tuesday, March 10th
    • There are no tryouts. Show up and join the team
    • Practices are Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00-5:45 pm at CHS

Home Game Ticket Prices

  • 10 and under: Free
  • CMS students: Free tickets available at lunches (otherwise $2)
  • 11-17 (non-CMS student): $3
  • 18-64: $4
  • 65 and older: Free 

Student Eligibility & Forms

Eligibility

To be eligible for a sport, a student must maintain passing grades in all classes. There will be weekly grade checks. See Athletic Handbook for details.

Transportation

Students staying after school for activities may ride the activity school bus home. School buses are also provided for student athletes going to CHS for practice. An activity bus will leave CHS after practice times to drop students off at various stops around the city.

To be able to ride home from games with another family, students must have a “Permission to Ride” form on file.
